Academics

Valley View Boys Leadership Academy focuses on the development of the whole child. At the center our our focus is literacy development and math comprehension. To further our mission and vision, we also nourish our young men with a comprehensive leadership curriculum. As our young men develop in their core content courses, they are also immersed in enrichment courses to further their maturation as young men. 

 

Innovation	During innovation hour students will be engaged in opportunities to further their understanding of core curriculum and strengthen core skills.
Leadership Seminar	Twice a week, students will be delve into what it takes to be a leader. VVBLA will utilize the Youth Engaged in Leadership and Learning Curriculum (Y.E.L.L.)
English/Language Arts	Literacy is one of our primary focuses at VVBLA. Students will be immersed in a bevy of learning opportunities which promote decoding, fluency and comprehension.
Mathematics	EngageNY and Springboard Mathematics will anchor the math curriculum at VVBLA.
Science	A "Hand on, Minds on" learning environment will be the mantra for our young men. Students will engage in STEAM tasks in which they will be fully immersed in the world of science.
Social Studies	We are firm believers that by understanding the past, you are more prepared for the future. As our young men delve into rich historical texts, they will also make correlations to the present state as they shape the world around them.
Enrichment	As we prepare our young men to be change agents, we further recognize the bevy of talents and abilities that our young men possess. We will add to these abilities through a robust enrichment department including art, foreign language, physical education, music and media.
